How do l color in fill or paint in laser engraved lettering

Hi folks,

l have a veg tanned piece of leather that was laser engraved with some words. There after I did paint the leather with a dark chocolate water stain. At this point the letters are not visible anymore and I want to enhance them with either silver or Gold paint. I tried rub n buff but it didn't work for me cause the silver color was spilling into the dark chocolate part. I would love to hear from you, how do I go about this? Please advise? Do you think paint pens would do?

Antiquing would be your best bet.

I already have my leather dark brown and I just want my letters to pop out by either adding a silver or gold. The technique in the video will leave it with same dark color. Thanks though

I use gel-ink pens.
