Syd Report post Posted January 29, 2008 (edited) Hi Bezza, Im thinking of making a Tank Bib in the near future,i was wondering if you could give me a bit of help with a few things. I really like the way you dyed your seat (GHETTO BLASTER) could you explain how you done it please. Few Questions 1, Is that black at the bottom ,going into Brown at the top. 2,How did you get it to fade from one colour to the other. 3,What are the colours called. 4,What brand of dye was used. 5,And any more information you can give would be great. 6, What thickness of leather is best for Tank Bib. respects Garry Edited January 29, 2008 by Syd
Roger Report post Posted January 31, 2008 sorry ... i just saw this. i don't recall the exact colors but, i think it was buckskin to saddle tan to black. they are fiebings pro oil dyes. i do all my fading with an airbrush. tank bibs can be about any thickness. it really depends on what you want. i have only done a couple and used 5-6oz. i think i used some highlighter on it also

Hidemechanic Report post Posted January 31, 2008 Hey Beez, did you say you make your own pans? Or do you have customers bring them to you or you get them elsewhere? GH
Roger Report post Posted January 31, 2008 Hey Beez, did you say you make your own pans? Or do you have customers bring them to you or you get them elsewhere? GH no but, i have.... there are guys out there that just make pans so i'ed rather not. i do have some metal fabrication skills including machining and welding. 99% are customer supplied. i buy solo pans from a guy i have been dealing with for some time

How do you attach those.....hanging down flaps (I'm sure they have a name) at the rear? I've seen it before and I'm just curious.
