Works beautifully with 277 on top also. Maybe someone has made some modifications to my machine

Post some close-up pictures of your machine and some stitch samples when you get a chance. Achievements like that need to be documented!

I especially want to see a close-up or two of the shuttle, race and bobbin case.

My current crop of sewing machines:

Cowboy CB4500, Singer 107w3, Singer 139w109, Singer 168G101, Singer 29k71, Singer 31-15, Singer 111w103, Singer 211G156, Adler 30-7 on power stand, Techsew 2700, Fortuna power skiver and a Pfaff 4 thread 2 needle serger.

Finally got some leather needles for my 1947 machine, tried some 207 top 138 bottom just for fun. It made a stitch and looked good on top but wouldnt pull the knot into the leather. Not saying much as it barely pulls the knot in with 92 top/bottom. Stitch looks great on top though. 

Ofcourse I may need a new tension spring as the one on it is probably original.

There are heavy duty beehive tension springs available for most industrial sewing machines. I got one from Bob Kovar for my Singer 31-15. I put it on to sew with bonded nylon and change back to the lighter spring to sew with cotton thread.
