AussieMade Report post Posted March 8, 2017 We have an order for a large dog collar with a double cap riveted name and dog collar spikes. Questions I have are: - Would I best line the collar on the back to cover the dog spike rivets and the back of the double caps? - If I do line the back, I am looking to probably use 0.8mm Kangaroo Leather or Pig Skin, Which would be better? - And..... I can get a full CT Kangaroo skin for about $30AUD over here so not to bad in price. But glad to hear kangaroo will outlast the pig. Yeah Pig has its place and is a good liner for certain applications, thin vegtan roo I really like for lining things where you want a little more body and where you would line with normal thin cow vegtan. Its just much more expensive here in the states so not always a go to unless you can afford it or work the price into your project. In a application like a collar with a large dog I would definitely pick roo, it should wear nicely over time and will hold up if properly installed. Thanks, yeah getting Roo over here is easy, especially when Packer Leather Tannery is only 10mins down the road from me. Here's a good video with lots of detail.
