Sofaspud Report post Posted March 22, 2017 This is a prototype of a handled sleeve for Yeti stye tumblers. I used 4/5 oz. Veg tan for the sleeve, and 9/10 oz wrapped in 7/8 oz. There are quite a few things I will change on the next one. First, I will use thicker leather on the sleeve. I will move any carving, initials, graphics 45 degrees towards the handle. I will also make the handle a little smaller. I welcome any critiques, criticism, or ideas anyone has to share. I know that l got a little off track with the tri-weave stamp, happens every time I use that Craftool. Does anyone know of a tri-weave that is easier to keep on track? ProCreationz Report post Posted March 22, 2017 Very nice. My wife has recently asked if I could make her one. Your feedback about 'next time' is helpful. The Tri-weave that you used does take a lot of practice to get it right. Have you tried the Craftool Pro Series Tri-weave? It is much easier to use and keep aligned. Halitech Report post Posted March 22, 2017 the tri weave is the hardest to master but once you get it, all others are easy. I like your color combination and your letters. Only thing I would point out is the ends where you laced it together. On the next one, put your edges together and make sure they are the same size before you start doing any carving or tooling so you don't have 1 corner sticking out and not being inline with the other edges. xshadowx Report post Posted March 22, 2017 Your tri-weave looks pretty good. I also had trouble withe the craft tool tri-weave stamp. It was not symetrical n any way. I purchased a Barry King tri-weave stamp and you would not believe the difference. It stamps perfect every time. It was not cheap but after fighting the Craftool stamp for so long it was worth it. HBAR Report post Posted March 22, 2017 http://robertbeardtools.scalabledata.com/ Makes a really good tri weave stamp. Actually all of his stamps are head and shoulders above most makers. His triweave has prongs(tits) for easy alightment. It makes the process much easier.

I have looked at that stamp, but I don't really care for the little atom symbol in the center. Thanks for your feedback.

You're absolutely right about my uneven corners. I think I had more stretch on one side than I did on the other, I'm pretty sure I checked that the ends matched up, maybe, I think... maybe not. Anyway, by the time I noticed it was either uneven corners or oddly thin border. I will definitely be more careful on the next one. Thanks for your feedback. I have been wanting to get some Barry King tools, that might be a good first tool from him.
