1/8 inch walking foot guides--disastear :(

so i was making handles on a purse (sewing kinda like 2 belts on top of each other sewn together).. using  a 1/8 inch seam guide walking foot on my   consew227.. but the problem is that even though i go kinda slow, it always gets crooked and goes off on the bottom leather..  any tips for this.. maybe a left toe and swing guide????  help??

I have a couple fairly large (about 2" long) strong, guide magnets I got on the auction site. You could put one on each side of the "stack" and let the guide foot do its job for keeping things pretty.

I did something very similar when I wanted to sew together two layers of mule tape ( crazy strong woven tape used to pull  in pulling lines for electrical wire in conduit (i work for an electrical utility, and sometimes the spools get damaged and they just get tossed out)).

Maybe glue? Helpes me out sometimes in these kind of cases.

I use "Leather Tape", made by Venture, in various widths, to secure pieces of leather for sewing. It is very strong, almost as good as contact cement (but more like aggressive rubber glue). You should use titanium needles to sew through this tape to avoid gumming up the eye and shaft. Venture Tape is sold by Wawak and other big suppliers.
