Contributing Member JLSleather Posted April 12, 2017 Contributing Member Report Posted April 12, 2017 Looks like you got the right idea, but maybe need a cleaner piece of leather. Quote
Contributing Member fredk Posted April 12, 2017 Contributing Member Report Posted April 12, 2017 I think the pocket needs to be deeper/longer, to bring more of the mag lower Quote
Members Stetson912 Posted April 12, 2017 Members Report Posted April 12, 2017 Looks good. I agree with JLS and fredk. A deeper sitting mag would be more secure but if the retention is good I don't see much of an issue. I don't know if it's the photo or if the leather was dirty or something. Like JLS said it could be cleaner. I thought I saw some tool marks from where you wet molded it? Maybe spend a little more time smoothing those out and it would looks a hundred times better. Also, personal preference here, I would like the bottom of the pouch to be straight instead of having that dip in it. All in all it looks functional and like it'll last a while. Keep it up! Quote
Members mbelmores Posted April 19, 2017 Members Report Posted April 19, 2017 Nice job. What oz leather did you use? Quote
Members Tnhunter Posted April 19, 2017 Author Members Report Posted April 19, 2017 I used 9-10 oz. leather using JLS's template. Quote
MikeG Posted April 21, 2017 Report Posted April 21, 2017 I'd round the pointy end at the bottom. It's the only sharp edge on the pouch. Maybe make the curve match the pouch more. Ask for opinions and you'll get a bunch! Quote
