Members jputnam Posted April 24, 2017 Members Report Posted April 24, 2017 Not new to sewing, but new to this machine, bought myself a Consew 226R-1 over the weekend - perfect condition other than bone dry, had been professionally maintained in a hospital repair shop until it was surplussed years ago, and had been sitting in a basement ever since. Took it all apart to get it out of the basement, into my car, and up the ladder into my attic, now it's all put back together, oiled and adjusted and working perfectly. Not bad for $200 and some heavy lifting. So, any helpful tips from experienced 226 owners? Machine-specific quirks or warnings? Things that aren't covered well in the factory manual? Must-have accessories that you wished you'd bought the day you got your machine? Quote
