Shop Press for clicking - what is big enough??

Recommended Posts

Looking to buy a shop press to convert to a clicker. Most of the conversions I have seen on here are 20 ton. I am using 2-10oz leather and cramped for space. Is the 6 ton table top to small? Which is best 6,12 or 20 ton?

The pressure required is dependent on the length of the cut (bigger dies take more tonnage).  Most of us who have these presses would be fine with the 12 ton .. but we got teh 20 because it was the same price (or sometimes less).  Not pretty, but true

Search real hard on here as someone had a press he was trying to sell. I believe he was on the east coast. He was moving and not wanting to take the press with him. It was all setup to use as a clicker.

Thanks, I found it, it was a real good price. But it was too far away.
