Sorcerer1 Report post Posted August 18, 2017 As the title suggests . I will be hand stitching a liner to a gun belt . 9/10oz . belt and 4/5 oz . liner leather . My thinking is thinner rather than heavy . But I'm pretty new to this part of the craft . I have stitched one other belt but not this heavy so ? Halitech Report post Posted August 20, 2017 I'm assuming that is a machine thread. Is there any reason why you think you can't use it?

No reason other than ease of doing it . Pulling a lighter thread seems it would be easier as I will be hand stitching it . Sorry for late replies . Been having health problems that cause a drop in my activities . Edited August 26, 2017 by Sorcerer1
Halitech Report post Posted August 26, 2017 sorry to hear about your health issues. Far as the thread, I can't find any #400 thread info so I'm not sure how thick it is. I usually buy my thread in either 0.8mm or 0.030" but I can't compare to what you are using. What brand is the thread you are using?
Dwight Report post Posted August 26, 2017 Personally, . . . I use all 346 thread, . . . for belts, knife sheaths, holsters, and gun bags. It has held up well so far, . . . May God bless, Dwight
