Members rtesterman Posted October 15, 2017 Members Report Posted October 15, 2017 I know quite a few of you guys are making fire service leather items. Here is my first big order I had received, and it turned out pretty darn good. Any advice for a newbie? Quote
Members Jbrandon Posted October 15, 2017 Members Report Posted October 15, 2017 yeah one of the guys at work asked me to make them one. I've got a few orders in front of him though. Yours looks nice. Is that a patch? Quote
Members rtesterman Posted October 15, 2017 Author Members Report Posted October 15, 2017 No it is hand stamped and painted. Quote
Members diibbles134 Posted October 16, 2017 Members Report Posted October 16, 2017 Where did you get the stamp for that? But it looks very solid , very impressive. Im a firefighter, done a bunch of helmet fronts but haven't gotten into radio holders yet , next on the list Quote
Members diibbles134 Posted October 16, 2017 Members Report Posted October 16, 2017 Also where did you find the elastic snap? Quote
Members chriscraft Posted October 16, 2017 Members Report Posted October 16, 2017 Very nice clean brush work on the stamped logo. Thumbs up.. Quote
Members rtesterman Posted October 16, 2017 Author Members Report Posted October 16, 2017 Thanks Chris. Almost 8 hours of paint to get it perfect. Quote

I use line 24 snaps on 1" leather strip. Just get thinner leather or the standard 24 snap won't work. 3 hours ago, diibbles134 said: Where did you get the stamp for that? I CNC them, but I'm currently trying to get into making shields. I have gotten some help from guys on here, and it's been great. I just have to get a sewing machine and I'll be set... Quote
Members JerseyFirefighter Posted October 16, 2017 Members Report Posted October 16, 2017 Fantastic work on painting the patch. If there's one flag that drives me nuts to paint, its MD's flag :D Quote
