Recommended Posts

I found a National A-288 and believe it's the the same as a Singer 288.

Problem is I can find no info on either machine anywhere.

thanks for any info

It looks clean and is from an upholstery shop, I'm guessing it has a clutch motor and is set up to run way faster than I need or can control.

I'd mainly use it for doing bags or the like probably no more than 10oz at most if I did a bag out of veg tan.

I'm not sure where this "hobby" will take me and what I may end up doing later on and realize most have more than one machine. One for bags/wallets n such and one for holsters/tack/collars/saddles.

If it runs too fast for you we have a servo that you can replace the clutchmotor with that will slow it down alot & make it much more controllable.Yes alot of people end up with two or more machines.
