I am working a guitar jacket for a Telecaster.  I still have a lot of tooling to do, but I would really appreciate your suggestions on what colour combination to use to finish the project off.

Thanks

Scott

That's cool! What color is the neck of the guitar?

I'm partial to a high contrast look myself. I'd probably end up hand-dying the background a dark brown or black, and antique the rest.

The neck is maple.  I am sorta toying with using all kinds of bright colours but I don't want it to end up looking cartoon-ish.

Given the "vaguely" Grateful Dead" ( the "Mouse and Kelley" work on the covers and the posters ) look of your tooling so far..take a look at some of the old covers and posters of "The Dead"..and also the "Mouse and Kelly" book issued in 1979..

While you are looking at such gems..also take a look ( in case you do any Celtic work ) at Jim Fitzpatrick's work..and for some gorgeous fantasy artwork by someone who sadly is now gone from us..Patrick Woodroffe.

HTH :)

Ps..neat skeletal horse there..wingless Thestral ?

I'd go with colors in the style of Dia de los Muertos.
