kyrrk Report post Posted May 23, 2018 hello there! I am one woman army in the Philippines . It started when I was looking for a DIY leather watch strap for my Apple Watch ended up watching how to make wallets and stuffs. Since then, everyday I looked up YouTube to watch leathercrafting, and decided to make my own leather goods. It was difficult to find tools from local store, I tried my luck searching online and fortunately found starter tools. Imagine buying and waiting 3 weeks for that. Fast forward to more than a year, here I am growing my small business of small leather goods. Attached are few of my works.Hope you appreciate my works! All made with TLC :D 100% handmade I want to try making bags too! I still hasn't made my own watch strap lol
Webicons Report post Posted May 23, 2018 Congratulations on turning one of your passions into a business. I hear that the Philippines is a difficult place to find leather and leather crafting tools but, from what I see here and on Instagram, there are many talented artists. Keep up the good work and best wishes on growing your brand.

kyrrk Report post Posted June 10, 2018 My homemade leather balm and the test result. It is not 100% waterproof, but gives you enough time to wipe water you spilled. Contains beeswax, carnauba wax, coconut oil and almond oil. There are many recipe online, it is up to you which you follow. There are more better recipe, but in my case, this is just my resources. zuludog Report post Posted June 10, 2018 Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on turning your hobby into a business Your standard of work is very good, especially the sewing, but I have a couple of points - I can't quite tell from all of the pictures, but have you considered burnishing the edges? And if you don't mind telling us, what sort of thread do you use, please?
kyrrk Report post Posted June 10, 2018 @zuludog hello. Yes, I burnish the edges when I use vegetable tanned. I'm still practicing it on chrome tanned though, I have difficulty applying it. And the thread I use is a regular waxed thread that I buy locally. 1mm which is the only available.
kyrrk Report post Posted June 11, 2018 I've been thinking alot about making a watchstrap out of snakeskin. A fellow leathercrafter gave me a scrap enough to make it. I am not good in making the pattern for it, that would actually fits my wrist but thought I should give it a try. After few hours, it's done and here's the finished product.. let me know what you think.

kyrrk Report post Posted June 20, 2018 I've made a card holder made of chrome tanned leather because I want to practice edge coating. I have this money clip accessory ordered way back, I didn't apply edge coat because I don't have color close to the leather. This is the minimalist money clip wallet (Empty) (Load with card each side and few cash) Pls feel free to visit my Facebook page, YouTube and Instagram . LetterT Report post Posted June 21, 2018 (edited) Nice touch with the label, I really like how discreet it is and yet still there to show off you mark. I recognize the thread from one of the pictures. Is is a waxed thread sourced from China, it has printed "Galaces thread" on it. I know since I bought some for practice. I have bought 0.8mm and 0.55mm, I have also seen 0.65mm and 0.45mm in sale. 0.8mm is flat, 0.55 is round. I didn't measure exact dimensions yet as I didn't try to stitch it yet. P.S. Where did you get the ABC letters stamp? Edited June 21, 2018 by LetterT

Where did you get the ABC letters stamp? Spot on. There's only limited resources in here, that's why most of my stuff came overseas, specifically in China. I'm still surviving my small business, can't really afford other brand. Which ABC letter? Those for hot stamping, I just got locally. You can check hexnhit on IG. I got my maker's mark from them, they did an excellent job in it. They also offer letter stamps. Both for hot stamping and cold stamping. Have a great day! LetterT Report post Posted July 15, 2018 Subscribed :-) I know YT can be a nice way to showcase your work but if I can make a small suggestion here: try to focus on crucial steps in your work, show the details and please, please, slow down. Speeding video can show more of work in less time but after watching for 2 minutes I started feeling dizzy from all the super fasts motion.

I will more focus on steps rather showing all in timelapse.
