No luck, it always looks like S- -T when I get through with it. It will bulge out on the smaller end & just plain ole looks bad.The ones in the stores have the zipper sticking out past the edge of the case which looks like crap in my opinion. I want the zipper more inside the case & not towards the outside. I am trying to cover the edge with a leather trim piece around the whole case about 1/2" in on the outside (top) & about the same on the inside (bottom). I have took this on & off so much I have sure lost any profit I could have made in labor, let alone the lost materials. I want it to look & be right like it should before I send it out. If I ever get it right I will post a picture of it. Well I guess I won't post a picture as I tried to & it won't let it post. Says picture is too big. Don't know how that can be as the first is a whole lot bigger than the 1 I have now.

I have done them that way with a gusset bet when it comes down to the pointed end of the case the gusset bulges out real bad. Works ok until I get there. It's seems to be different for me than square or rectangle for some reason. I am doing 1 now & I finally took the gusset off & just glued & stitched the zipper to the case. I cover the outer 1/2" edge with soft lightweight chap leather. I am still having a problem with the zipper at the pointed end. Just looks bad to me. No one has ever said anything but you know how leather workers are. We are our own worst critiques.

Take  an measure from the top center top the bottom center using a seamstress tape, add 3" an that is the length zipper you will need. Take the zipper an open, run one down one side and the other on the other side. run the ends up the  center.. Now stitch the zipper in place.

You know the best way to learn this is go to u tube an type in how to install single coil nylon zipper tape. You only need to use one side of the zipper
