chrisash Report post Posted June 6, 2018 Having brought gum tragacanth in powder form, how much water do you add to it to make it a liquid form you can keep and use as required
Retswerb Report post Posted June 9, 2018 I’ve never used the powder, but I would guess you can be fairly ‘loose’ with the recipe. Start with not much water and add until you get the consistency that seems right.
zuludog Report post Posted June 9, 2018 You can get an idea of the required consistency from the immortal words of Ian Atkinson from Leodis Leather - "it looks like spunk"
chrisash Report post Posted June 9, 2018 Thanks folk's, I have been wetting the edge and then with a damp finger picking up the powder and placing it on the edge, but not a great success, different amounts endup on some parts others dry up at different times. then i saw a video of someone using Tandy issue and it came in a bottle as a semi liquid, hence the question. I guess there must be a certain mix ratio that stays liquid and does not dry up, my own tests left me with dried up gunge or coloured water
