Wizcrafts Report post Posted July 8, 2018 All I can tell you is that the machine was made in Japan and is what we call a shoe patcher. It is used to sew the uppers on boots and shoes, or to fix purses, or to sew decorative patches onto motorcycle vests and jackets. That said, I am moving this to the Leather Sewing Machines forum. Constabulary Report post Posted July 9, 2018 (edited) I´m no "Colibri type" patcher expert but this one looks like an early CLAES & FLentje patcher with large hook (nowadays subclass 30). As far as I know they are still using the same hook and presser feet. So most likely this machine will need System 88 needles. I think Mitsubishi just put their badge on it. I'm not a specialist in shoe making, I'm fond of sewing shoes in my spare time, I sew shoes for myself and my family. I agree with Constabulary , this car is very similar to the Claes & Flente, but some small details are completely different. For example, the wheel with the logo has another drum and the levers are slightly different in shape. In any case, I will try to work on it and would like to show its work and tell about my impressions about this machine.
