Members KCB346 Posted August 8, 2018 Members Report Posted August 8, 2018 Has anyone ever replaced the thread take up lever on a juki lu562/563? What needs to be done? Quote
Uwe Posted August 8, 2018 Report Posted August 8, 2018 I've done it and I wouldn't describe it as a trivial undertaking. I'm not aware of a simple set of instructions or a video showing the procedure, sorry. You basically have to disassemble everything in front of the take-up lever inside the head of the machine. Quote
Uwe Posted August 8, 2018 Report Posted August 8, 2018 The closest thing I know of is this section of a US Army service manual ( https://archive.org/details/TM10-3530-202-24 Pages 122/123) that describes the procedure on a Singer 111W155 (a relative of the Juki LU-562 in certain design elements): Quote
Members KCB346 Posted August 9, 2018 Author Members Report Posted August 9, 2018 I know I have to remove the center presser foot. But would I have to remove the outer presser foot as well? Quote
Uwe Posted August 9, 2018 Report Posted August 9, 2018 The rear presser foot bar itself is just about the only that can stay in place. But frankly, you might as well take the whole thing apart and inspect/clean all the parts. I'm curious as to why you want to replace the thread take-up lever at all. Is it actually broken? Can you post some pictures of your machine? Quote
Members KCB346 Posted August 9, 2018 Author Members Report Posted August 9, 2018 Yes, it was broken. Quote
Members Mizzy Posted June 27, 2019 Members Report Posted June 27, 2019 Hi Uwe, thank you for putting that page up. I’m going to attempt replacing a take-up lever in a Singer 112g141 and I’m wondering if those instructions might be applicable for my machine? Quote
CowboyBob Posted June 27, 2019 Report Posted June 27, 2019 The 112w would be easier since it doesn't have the extra walking feet parts on it.Just get the rockframe out (the part the needlebar rides in & you be able to get the takeup lever out. Quote
