Get a few packs of the proper needle system; 29x3, 29x4, 135x16, or 135x17. These systems have the correct shank diameter and length from the top to the eye and then to the tip. Insert all the way into the needle clamp. Then align them as I previously described. The entire clamp can be moved sideways to center the needle in the hole in the throat plate.
