CloudyCreek Report post Posted August 29, 2018 Hey all. So I just purchased a new Juki 1508n and I’m trying to wind my first bobbin with it. But the problem is the bobbin doesn't rotate with the winder shaft. It just sits on the shaft as the shaft spins. Any ideas? The bobbins came with the machine. I’ve watched a few videos and can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong Thanks!
brmax Report post Posted August 29, 2018 (edited) As I look at the split pin, that the bobbin is pushed on with slight force. The pin itself is or has and has to have more expansion toward operator as you know. Im looking at one with .22” diameter at machine and .24” operator end dia. this seems to hold bobbins fine around here. It has an approximate or easy gap of a 120/19 needle thickness, above the scarf area. Good day Floyd ps: i forget the stainless lever has to be pushed down onto bobbin thread area. JJN Report post Posted August 29, 2018 (edited) I found that some bobbins have a slightly larger diameter center hole than others. What I now do when winding bobbins on any machine is feed the thread tail back through the center hole before I slide it on the winding arbor. It tightens the bobbin to the arbor and holds the tail so I don't have to. Edited August 29, 2018 by JJN
