Members Anachronite Posted December 3, 2018 Members Report Posted December 3, 2018 Question, will Mink Oil or Neatsfoot oil seal a dye into leather and keep it from bleeding onto clothing? if not, are there any other kinds of natural sealants. I hate using modern chemicals other than the dyes themselves if it can be avoided. (I like to use iron and copper acetate dyes sometimes for this reason). Quote
Members chrisash Posted December 3, 2018 Members Report Posted December 3, 2018 Resolene and Eco flow sheen are two sealants, mink and NFO lubricate the leather but don't seal it Quote
Members YinTx Posted December 7, 2018 Members Report Posted December 7, 2018 As far as natural, the only thing I would think of would be beeswax, but not really a "sealant" in the purest sense of the word. As mentioned, the oils lubricate/nourish the leather, but do not provide protection or seal in any colorants. YinTx Quote
