alpha2 Posted January 19, 2019 Report Posted January 19, 2019 I found this old buckle (30 yrs?) in the back of a drawer in my desk, so decided to actually make a belt for myself! Black bridle leather, custom buckle, sewn on CB4500. The buckle was made by a machinist at GM in Lansing, Michigan. There were a few of us in the area building airplanes so he made some buckles with our planes on them. Jeff Quote So much leather...so little time.
Members Seagrove59 Posted January 19, 2019 Members Report Posted January 19, 2019 Nice finished edge and stitching. Heavy duty. Quote
Members benlilly1 Posted January 19, 2019 Members Report Posted January 19, 2019 Nice vintage buckle Jeff! Bridle leather 2 layers or just one? Quote
alpha2 Posted January 19, 2019 Author Report Posted January 19, 2019 Just one. Any thinner and I would have added a liner, but this stuff is fairly stiff anyway. Quote So much leather...so little time.
Members Retswerb Posted January 20, 2019 Members Report Posted January 20, 2019 Very cool. RV8? Quote
bikermutt07 Posted January 20, 2019 Report Posted January 20, 2019 Nice job, Jeff. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Members JD62 Posted January 21, 2019 Members Report Posted January 21, 2019 Nice job on both the belt and the RV4. I like the pant job too! Quote One day at a time my friends John
