I owned a vintage White rotary and it was great for making garments at home. I gave it to my kid who was in a fashion design class at the time. I would not recommend it for wallets or any leather work at all.

This machine is friction driven by a tiny rubber wheel on the spring loaded motor that presses against the flywheel. It slips under the slightest resistance at the needle. This is the antithesis of a leather sewing machine. Strictly for soft cloth items.

hum I have 2 and use on leather with #16 blunt leather needle and a NEW rubber drive wheel a must. Thanks for your input. drawback 5 stitch per inch unless you modify. will take a TWIST needle for doing FRENCH slant stitch. I think you MUST get needle 206x13 # 16 #18, then blunt it by hand, for this machine. ebay EZ note if wheel is shot will have no power as to slipping .be well bud.
