have a look in the "how do I do that " section for ideas on tools. Any book by Al Stohlman is worth having wether your just starting or an expert

Hi and welcome to the forum, i would say the basic sets tandy do are a good start to get the feel of using the tools and as mensioned the stohlman books are good, and there are plenty of people here also willing to give advice and tutorials, Don

Mr Leather! Welcome! As for your question... NOTHING beats a good instructional video or DVD. Like they say a picture is worth a thousand words! Go to Smartflix and rent a couple of Leatherworking DVDs. Even if you don't want to make a holster or sheath, you will learn big time! Good Luck!

Welcome aboard! I'm a beginner too, join the club. (Well, I've been in this stuff for two years, so I don't guess I qualify as a 100% beginner anymore, but I'm definitely closer to beginnerism than not. Especially as I find out how much more there is to learn.) This forum is great; not only do you get your questions answered by knowledgeable leathercrafters, but you also get to look through other people's questions and find out about things you never would have thought to ask.
