Members superpacker Posted May 1, 2019 Members Report Posted May 1, 2019 If I'm stamping a belt, and I want to come in .25" from the edge to start my stamping, I know there are, in theory, a lot of ways I could make this reference line: scroll knife, creaser, wing divider. Each of these would make a line differently, and I wasn't sure if one is preferable. Quote
Rockoboy Posted May 4, 2019 Report Posted May 4, 2019 For a reference line, not a part of the design, I would use a set of dividers, or 2nd choice would be a scratch awl with a straight edge. All you will see is a faint scratch which will disappear in the stamping and/or carving. Wait for it... some a@@ will be here in a minute to sell you a new tool to do that with and sign you up for a paid class on how to use it Quote "Observation is 9/10 of the law."
