Members steadybrook Posted May 26, 2019 Members Report Posted May 26, 2019 How do I stop Fiebings Pro Dye from bleeding ? Quote
Members TargetRockLeather Posted May 27, 2019 Members Report Posted May 27, 2019 Can you elaborate on the problem you are having? Do you mean the dye bleeds onto your clothes or whatever after it has thoroughly dried and the item is completed? Quote
Members steadybrook Posted May 27, 2019 Author Members Report Posted May 27, 2019 Yes it keeps rubbing off onto clothing in contact with the dyed leather. Quote
Members TargetRockLeather Posted May 27, 2019 Members Report Posted May 27, 2019 There is always a residue after it dries. After the leather has dried completely, rub the dyed surface briskly with a soft cloth. It will pick up any residual pigment that has been left on the surface. It will also give the leather a nice luster. That should prevent it from rubbing off where you don't want it. Also if you apply carnauba creme or any other finish, that will also help. Quote
Members steadybrook Posted May 27, 2019 Author Members Report Posted May 27, 2019 Thanks I will try that. Quote
NVLeatherWorx Posted May 28, 2019 Report Posted May 28, 2019 Another thing to consider is, if it applies of course, is to not dye the flesh side as it will hold more residue than the grain side will. Quote
