Members Silverd Posted June 22, 2019 Members Report Posted June 22, 2019 (edited) Hi all Can chrome tanned leather be dyied successfully? My first attempts appear be successful but what of long term survival? Photo is of Portifino D Shoulder leather from Tandy. Before and after application of a custom blend of three Pro Die shades with a single coat of Fiebings Pro Resist on top. What's there not to love! According to the Tandy website, "This rich-looking leather from Spain has been veg-tanned in a historic tannery with a naked finish that has a luxurious two-tone pull-up effect. Use to make lightweight belts, cases and handbags." https://www.tandyleather.com/en/product/portifino-double-shoulder-tan Quote
Members Silverd Posted June 22, 2019 Author Members Report Posted June 22, 2019 Haha...OK well that makes sense then! I assumed i was working with a Chrome tanned product by the look and feel of it. That I guess explains the results I got. Thank you! Silverd Quote
