SShepherd Report post Posted June 27, 2019 Hi everyone, I've been lurking for a few weeks and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a knifemaker, been doing it for 20 years now and I've resisted making sheaths...because I'm stubborn. I've farmed them out to other guys, bought el-cheapo sheaths and included them at cost to customers but I just can't justify it anymore. So here I am here's something I did a while ago, damascus with a japanese steel core, bog oak handle
TargetRockLeather Report post Posted June 27, 2019 That's some beautiful damascus. Seems like a shame to pair it with a cheapo sheath when you have the skills to make one of your own. Show us what you come up with for this one.

Oh that one's long gone, I farmed the sheath out to a pro.

PigasusStudio Report post Posted July 26, 2019 (edited) Beautiful! I admit, I'm a Forged in Fire junkie. That's as close as I'm likely to every get to actually forging any weapons myself but it does help me appreciate other's work. Beware, with the craftsmanship evident on the knife, we (that's the "royal we", btw) expect great things from you in your leatherwork as well. Er, but no pressure. :0) Great bracelet too, did you do that as well? Edited July 26, 2019 by PigasusStudio

And yeah, I've dreamed of forging but I've only bought knife blanks and built up from there, which is a stretch for me too but funner than heck! I agree, the bar is set pretty high for you, but you'll soon see, the leather work is pretty cool and calming, much softer to work with! Looking forward to seeing your work, and more knives!
