klutes Report post Posted September 14, 2019 (edited) What is the best glue to use when glueing cloth to inside of a bag. Chrome tan leather. I am currently using 3M 77 not sure how long it will hold. I am sure this has been discussed on here so if someone can point me in the right direction to find it I would appreciate it. Thanks Edited September 14, 2019 by klutes
blue duck Report post Posted September 14, 2019 Depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Usually cloth is attached to leather with glue to give a temporary hold so it can be stitched down. After stitching the glue doesn't really matter. Are you trying to do a lining or just a finished look to the leather? What type of bag are you trying to make? klutes Report post Posted September 14, 2019 I want the liner to be permanently attached. Small cross body purse
fredk Report post Posted September 14, 2019 3M 77 is just about as permanent you're going to get. I've used similar, but probably poorer, versions and its lasted. . . . well, its lasted. Another type of adhesive is the heat-activated iron-on sheet. example; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sizzix-Accessory-Adhesive-Iron-On-Sheet-100-Polyolefin-1m-Roll/263974872556?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 though you need to be very careful with your heat
