I personally don't care for the big rivets -- if I were doing this pattern and keeping the rivets instead of sewing them, I'd use smaller ones. But's that's just an aesthetic choice. Yeah I agree, the rivets are too large. I also made a stitched one but it's a really tricky task sewing those corners on the inside.
