chiefjason Report post Posted October 9, 2019 Very happy with this one. 2 layers of 5 oz W&C. Next one will be one layer of 5 oz and a thinner lining but this one is not too terribly thick. Exotic accent from a scraps bag I bought a few years back. Anyone know what this is? Looks elephant-ish. The leather at the mouth does 2 things. It looks REALLY good, and I have to stitch that anyway since it's lined. Edges sanded, burnished and 2 layers of edge coat.
Dwight Report post Posted October 9, 2019 Great looking holster, . . . Sig 365 is one big pocket gun in my estimation. My son has one, . . . and outside of my Vietnam jungle jammies, . . . ain't got no pockets that big. May God bless, Dwight

But it fits in my bluejeans pants. And I shipped a version of this pattern as a rough out holster and the customer loves it. That pattern is what got me thinking about doing this. And it gives me something nicer with a little more profit margin to toss on my etsy page. That's never a bad thing.
JLSleather Report post Posted October 9, 2019 That 365 is definitely at least 'a bit" bigger than the 238 I made one o these not long ago, but can't find the pic(s). Sometimes depending on teh work flow I don't always have time to take quality pics of every thing (though, nothing goes out the door without at least a snap on the smart phone). Ended up larger than I would want in a pocket, but each his own. Color me nostalgic, but I'm more of a colt mustang kind o' guy. That does look like some elephant I've used in the past... but I've seen some water buffalo that was pretty tough to tell the difference. What's the rivet for? Got some type o' stiffener in there? wizard of tragacanth Report post Posted October 9, 2019 (edited) Jason, that is a real nice looking holster. Hope I'm not repeating myself but the P365 is not too big nor too heavy to pocket carry. However, I guess that depends on the person's build and type of pants that they wear. I made a pocket holster for my P365. The gun and holster fit nicely in the pocket of my Lee jeans (regular fit). I am 5'10" and 180 lbs. It rode comfortably, even when sitting and driving, and it was nearly invisible. I didn't need to worry about printing though because I always wear long, un-tucked shirts. The only problem was... I could not draw from it. The opening of the pocket was too small and made it into a monkey trap. If I had a full firing grip on the pistol, I couldn't pull the gun out. It doesn't work too well drawing with just a thumb and index finger! Carried for 5 years IWB, now 10 years OWB. Thought that I would try pocket carry but looks like I am staying with OWB... unless I buy a different style of jeans. nick Edited October 9, 2019 by wizard of tragacanth

I've been told it's elephant. Which is what I was leaning towards anyway. Rivet is a throwback to when I didn't stitch around the hook. I've just kept it around. I figure that part of the holster will take the most abuse so might help it out. I need to post a pic of the one that just sold on etsy. It fully covers the slide. For a pocket holster it looks HUGE! It was one of those projects to see how it would look. Figured it was too big so tossed it on the desk. When I made another regular pocket holster for the P365 I took pics of both and listed the full cover as an option. It sold first. lol
wizard of tragacanth Report post Posted October 9, 2019 Jason... please do post a pic of the etsy holster. Would love to see it.
chiefjason Report post Posted October 10, 2019 The odd thing about this one is that it does not really add any size to the gun. But mentally it just looks enormous. I even put a little warning in the description that the holster was large. The base is the same as the rest but covering that slide really makes it look bad. But hey, I sold it. 14 hours ago, wizard of tragacanth said: Jason... please do post a pic of the etsy holster. Would love to see it.
wizard of tragacanth Report post Posted October 10, 2019 (edited) Jason, thanks for posting that. Looks good. I think rough-out is especially good for a pocket holster, for obvious reasons. I also like the full coverage. That button-tab that you put on it is a cool design element that makes your holster stand out from others. When I made my pocket holster, due to habit, I cut the leather for grain side out. Since it was a slightly asymmetrical pattern, I had to leave it that way. Jeez! Oh well, next time... maybe. nick . chiefjason Report post Posted October 18, 2019 Gotta love the crazy requests. I sold a full cover one like above, then got a message that it's for a P365 weight a red dot optic. Got some photos from the customer and came up with this. Now to see how he likes it. I'm going to try and get some pics of the actual gun in it. wizard of tragacanth Report post Posted October 18, 2019 Oh, wow! Pocketing a red dot? Maybe with cargo pants, I guess. nick
chiefjason Report post Posted October 18, 2019 I don't question their dreams, I just make them come true. LMAO. Based on the pics of the gun it's not really that big. Hope I get pics of it in the holster. I'm finishing one up for a M&P shield now. Lined but not exotic accent. And building another for the P365 with lizard accent. Built a RO pocket holster for a 9mm Shield once...the customer's daily wardrobe consisted of those Duluth Trading "cargo/tactical" pants with the DEEP pockets...I was worried at first that the entire thing would print but NOPE, they swallowed it whole and he was satisfied, which is what it's all about, I reckon.
