Members Jackfrost935 Posted November 3, 2019 Members Report Posted November 3, 2019 I’m just getting into working with veg tan and im have issues with it not dyeing evenly I’ve been using feibings stains/dyes and the instructions says something about using a cleaner before dyeing but it doesn’t say what the cleaner I should use? Or should I be using different dye? Quote

It should leave a trace of wetness that evaporates almost immediately 2. other cleaners can be, oxalic acid, vinegar & water, lacquer thinner (aka cellulose thinners), methylated spirits ( or any alcohol) 3. a. before dyeing dilute your dye. b. wet your leather. c. apply the diluted dye, d. allow this to almost dry completely, e.repeat c and d until colour density is reached then let dry completely Quote Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
