dabneytr Report post Posted December 1, 2019 I picked up a Chandler 406RB thinking the parts and manual would be readily available. I discovered that there are many different 406RBs. This machine uses a short shank outer foot (pressure bar) and has an inner foot with ~.25" dia for the vibrating pressure bar. I included some pics of the machine and showing the feet (bottom set in pic for this machine) vs the common high shank readily available (Top set in pic). I can not find feet for this machine, so if anyone has any options, that would be great. Also can anyone identify this machine to something I could reference? Maybe a time frame. There are no typical chandler decals and only the badge with Model 406RB and Serial number 081598. No casting markings to reference. I use a combination of manuals to get an idea, but all of these are only partially useful (Chandler 406RB-1; Seiko STH-8BLD-3, Consew 205RB-1). Thanks in advance for any help! Pintodeluxe Report post Posted December 1, 2019 Looks fairly similar to a Mitsubishi LY2-3300. Many other Asian brands have made similar machines like Techsew, Tacsew etc. Basically a non triple feed type of walking foot. But you're right, the short foot could be tricky to find. Add the Mitsubishi to your search, and see if anything pops up.
CowboyBob Report post Posted December 2, 2019 The best thing to do is adjust the bars up higher so the standard feet will work. This machine must be an early import,I don't remember ever seeing short feet like that before.
