Thanks You forgot to mention the model number of the machine. If you don't know it, take a small resolution photo of the operator's side of the machine and upload it in a reply. Then we who might respond will know what to tell you about where the pressure adjustment is on the head. Also, tell us if there are teeth on the bottom of the presser foot or feet. Rbarleatherworks Report post Posted December 11, 2019 (edited) ooops Sorry ... its a 29K51, this is not a pic of it but it is very similar the only difference I see is that the wheel is on the end. and yes there are teeth on the bottom, that is what is marking the leather. I can pound some of the marks out but not all. So was just hoping to find a way to lessen the problem all together. Thanks Edited December 11, 2019 by Rbarleatherworks to add more to the post
Constabulary Report post Posted December 11, 2019 (edited) Well patchers have teeth on their presser feet because thats the way they feed the material. If you had a vintage 45K you would have feed dog marks as well but on the underside. The presser foot is kind of feed dog but on the top side. I would first try to reduce the foot pressure as far as possible. You can try a piece shrink hose on the foot but the machine will probably no longer feed the material as good as before. There once was a guy here who coated the foot with diamond dust or the like (do not recall what it was) if I recall correctly that worked well for him. Let me check if I can find this old post.... EDIT: found it Edited December 11, 2019 by Constabulary
Wizcrafts Report post Posted December 11, 2019 You can back off the foot pressure by turning the wide thumb nut on the top left rear of the revolving head housing. You can see the coil spring inside a channel on the rear of the head.
