Can anyone recommend a quality knee lift for an early model 206RB? (mine does not have the wheel on the bottom like the new ones) 

Overtightened one of the bolts and the casting split apart. Complete garbage.

I would try a "singer type " knee lifter - they have a "flat push up" plate - I guess that one would work better. Or weld / solder a flat plate on the "push up stud" on your knee lifter

Kind of late to the party but that knee lifter probably wont work. Show me a picture of what split apart.
