Do you have to case/ dampen veg tan leather to apply pro dye? 

Before I read about dampening the leather I tried a test piece dry. It actually looks better than the one I did dampened. To me anyway. It's their chocolate pro dye.  It came out a nice chocolate color. Once I dampened the actual piece it came out almost black. 

Anything wrong with putting on dry leather?

I have been dying leather since the seventies, and I have never put dye on wet leather, no issues yet!:thumbsup:

I never apply oil dyes to wet leather - only dry.  Water based dyes should not be a problem on damp leather.
