Members ASAuLTCases Posted June 20, 2020 Members Report Posted June 20, 2020 Hello all, i am just putting together a small case that goes on a tank bib, so it can be taken off i was going to use a snap fastener but the rivet stems are to short for 1/4inch, 6mm thick piece, i don't want to skive it because it will not look right, but i am wondering if anyone has tried using the long-stemmed half of a double head rivet instead of the normal head? i hope this makes sense, thanks in advance, Quote
Members johnv474 Posted June 22, 2020 Members Report Posted June 22, 2020 If we are talking about the common 4 part snaps, also called durable snaps, then they are available with longer stems, up to about 1/2" long. Quote
Members Bert51 Posted June 22, 2020 Members Report Posted June 22, 2020 I purchased some long Marine stainless steel snaps that where a little to long for the job and found it hard to get them to roll down tight and not start to crush. It took a little bit of playing around and not to be impatient with the hammer and they still look good today. Bert. Quote
