HARVEY Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 Here's a CD case I made for my ol' Army buddy from Vietnam days. Modestly I say, I can't tell you how many times I saved his life (on the streets of Fayetteville, N.C. by keeping him out of certain "establishments" - but that's a separate story.) This is from a Tandy kit and the pattern actually comes off of a 10-cent U.S. stamp. Overall the flags are 4.25" high and 3.5" wide. (Back side is blank, just my maker's stamp). My friend's initials are aside the flags. The flag poles are straighter than they appear in the picture; maybe it was my resizing the photo. I used Cova colors. This is actually a simple project but I managed to make it more difficult than necessary (a peculiar gift which I have). I myself can see where improvements are needed but it's a great pattern. Just wanna say thanks to Wayne Christensen, Bruce Johnson and Blake Kral (See, guys, I finally got it done.) Harvey Los Angeles Quote

Moderator bruce johnson Posted September 17, 2007 Moderator Report Posted September 17, 2007 Harvey, Looks nice, nice job, good use of color, he should be happy. Actually Clay, it was not real simple for the flags. Harvey sent me the line drawings for an opinion on which side to bevel them to make them match the pics. I did it about 3 ways that "looked" right, and then I still wasn't sure. I finally took my smaller flag and laid it out on my desk to put the folds in it. It ended up to not be any of the 3 ways I thought it was when looking at the line drawings.
