Frodo Report post Posted July 22, 2020 how do you set these 5mm dome rivets? i understand you set the glass down on the mat and strike the cap with the setter that does not work. any tips?
billybopp Report post Posted July 22, 2020 Wet a thick piece of leather - or even a few layers to make thick - put the rivet head on it and hammer from the backside. The leather will make a form for it that'll work from then on to support the rivet. That little trick works for all sorts of oddly shaped rivets. I set a ton of skull rivets and some others that way. - Bill

Wizcrafts Report post Posted July 23, 2020 I have a bunch of domed cap rivets in various diameters and bought concave setting tools to match them. I haven't had any problems setting them as long as I use the correct setter. You may have received the wrong setter.
