Ending an 8 strand into a knot for hobble

Hey guys.  I am making a hobble style key fob and I am stuck.  I have a 9" length of doubled over 4 plait round braids to form a loop at one end and now I am at the other end of the braid and need to figure out making those 8 tag ends into a round knot.  Any suggestions?

 Just end it with a 4 strand knot (often called a foundation knot) and run all four laces through it. You want to make it fancier, make a pineapple knot around it.

 I meant to say 'run all eight laces through it.'

i just join the two 4 strand braids into an 8strand braid. then make a terminal knot as described by bruce grant in his books.
