luckystrike Report post Posted February 5, 2008 (edited) So I bought a ton of used leather tools and since I am new to this some of them are foreign to me. I have googled and looked everywhere but cannot find out what this pear shaped punch is for or even another one like it. Any clues? Edit: I should have given the size, it's 4" the long way... Drac Report post Posted February 5, 2008 depending on the size, it could be for zipper pulls, or keychains, or concho flaps, or make up a use for it. just make sure ya takes pics if ya do. we loves us some pics!
TracyMoss Report post Posted February 5, 2008 Looks like it could be a puch for the buckle end of a set of dovewing or strap style spur leather.

I would Luke but don't know what most things are worth. I put some stamps on e-bay last week and can't believe how many bids...I bought what was there for the sewing machine and leather...didn't know what a huge hobby this was... kseidel Report post Posted February 5, 2008 That punch is for cutting a buckle or ring "safe." That is the wear leather under a buckle or ring to keep the hardware and straps from wearing against and pinching the horse. Used largely on harness.
