Members swhoelefp69 Posted February 27, 2021 Members Report Posted February 27, 2021 (edited) Hi Folks! - need your advice. I bought some black thin suede to line some biker masks I'm making. Should I be concerned with bleed through on the face when using the mask on a hot summer day? I'm concerned that if I glue and stitch in a liner, I'll eventually have to rip it out, because my face keeps getting dyed black from the suede! or, is there a spray finisher that will prevent the bleed through? many thanks for your help! Members Rahere Posted February 27, 2021 Members Report Posted February 27, 2021 Insufficient data, does not compute...ie what's the material, what's the dye? Suede's a cut, a layer, not a material. Black's notorious for transferring, possibly test a scrap sandwiched between some gash white cloth under a steam iron. Quote

Members Retswerb Posted February 27, 2021 Members Report Posted February 27, 2021 Does the liner have to be black? Make it from a lighter color, keep it hidden on the inside, and don’t worry about color transfer. Quote

Members Rahere Posted March 2, 2021 Members Report Posted March 2, 2021 Mind you, if you've face fungus like mine, a bit of increased black in it's no bad thing... Quote
