Members CHT Posted March 29, 2021 Members Report Posted March 29, 2021 Hi: Some of the hides we get that are veg tan come in a bit opaque when new. When we want to clean up the image we have been hand buffing with canvas, but this takes a long time. Was wondering if anyone else had found a way to shorten this process? Thank you Chuck Quote
Members Handstitched Posted April 1, 2021 Members Report Posted April 1, 2021 Never had to do that before, except on swimming pool molds , I had arms like Arnie . Have you tried using a hand held buffer like you would use on a car? You may wish to experiment first . Perhaps make a buffing pad using a piece of canvas? Just a thought. Some of the more experienced leather workers on here may have a better idea. CFM tsunkasapa Posted April 1, 2021 CFM Report Posted April 1, 2021 I'm not sure I fully understand what the issue is. Opaque? Quote Hoka Hey! Today, tomorrow, next week, what does it matter?
Members Handstitched Posted April 2, 2021 Members Report Posted April 2, 2021 @tsunkasapa I think its in reference to ' not shiny' , dull.
