And where, exactly, are the lines showing up on the skived area?

I have a pdf of a newer fortuna which would also apply to your old one in the way of setup and sharpening? if you want, send me your email by private message at the top of the page and i can send you a copy. What kind of feed wheel do you have on at the moment?? rubber, steel or stone?

If your bush is worn then i would imagine your knife would have a lot of play/wobble?? does it have a lot of play??normally the lines will disappear when you have it sharpened well, the bevel should be continuous all the way around, and would recommend raising your stone feed wheel up to lightly touch the inside of the bell knife to take off the burrs. If it is the bush then that is obviously a case of replacing it.

did not seem to leve lines untill i put the new knife on

had to be moved all the way back and it might just be it needs to ware away some of its self befor it can be ajusted just right

dont normaly have a problem with fitting knifes and all ways use good quality knifes

stone feed wheel looks good

debured the inside with stone

no visable wobble on the blade that i can see

just wondered if part of the bush was worn and moveing it so far back it was in a worn part

marked knife with pen and sharpend untill pen mark gose

its not my machine i fitted it at a frends for him as i fix sewing machines normaly

manuals are allway helpfull

thanks for the help

It may also be horizontal oscillations, that requires two nuts at the end of the knife shaft to be tightened. Brgds Søren
