lining up holes on double triple leather

I did not find the old thread, But I remember an old thread about different ways to punch holes in knife sheaths or any thick leather

Here is 4 layers of 9oz veg tan. each side is 8mm  thick So the total thickness is 16mm  

On my pattern. where the corner is that the stitching starts on both pieces when folded over. I fold the pattern over and punch a hole

transfer the marks to the leather. Then set my windividers and scribe a stitch line. I use the transferred mark as the center of the starting point of my chisel.

I punch the scribed line. then come back and re-punch it a little deaper.  The chisel does not go all the way through but you can see a pin hole on the back side.  I use an awl to finish the hole.

on this holster, i sewed it with out any problems,

One trick can be to allow yourself more seam allowance than normal, cut that back and finish it after the sewing's done. Dremels to the fore...
