mrwatch Report post Posted May 4, 2021 I looked at this this hammer several times and bought it. Not sure how the man got the name for it and not found online pictures of one. A web search shows that one side is shaped like a hand held panel beating "dolly", to form curves in metal. A dolly is a hand held cast iron shape. Not with a double head, someone's been searching the internet and stopped once they found something like it. We'll use hammers to drive leather into shape, planishing, but it's a more rounded head with no true edge. That is, unless there's a tradition of sadomasochism to cobblers somewhere.
