Oldiesfan Report post Posted August 24, 2021 Who can tell me more about this earlier version ( ? ) Pfaff 24-1 . There's not much on the internet . A user manual seems to be impossible. There came some nice old stuff with this machine . Incl very old tools .
Constabulary Report post Posted August 24, 2021 (edited) Not sure about the subclass but the Pfaff 24 is pretty much the same as the Singer 18 - a clone if you want. Edited August 24, 2021 by Constabulary
Oldiesfan Report post Posted September 3, 2021 Today the Adler arrived and I've tried to sew . Problem 1 is that it's not picking up the under threat. The needle witch was already in was broken . So I used a needle that was in a package laying in de drawer . 332 110/2 . Maybe wrong needle size or ? Look at the pictures
Oldiesfan Report post Posted September 3, 2021 How to correct insert bobbin and Shuttle ? There's nothing detailed on the internet about this 24-1 machine.
Constabulary Report post Posted September 3, 2021 (edited) Most likely 332 is the wrong needle system. Or adjust the needle bar if you want to use 332 needles. See attached manual for Seiko TE / TF 6 - hope it helps. Seiko TE TF-6, -6B Instruction Manual.pdf Edited September 3, 2021 by Constabulary

Or what size should be in wright now under these adjustments. This because the 332 doesn't pick-up?
Constabulary Report post Posted September 4, 2021 The 332 needle seems to be too long. Ex factory the Singer 17 (left arm version of the Class 18) is using Singer 16 needles (other nomenclatures for this needle are 287 or 1738) but you can also try 134R / 135x5 / DPx5 needles. They have the same lengths as the class 16 needles but have a larger shank diameter and are more common / easier to find. Since the 332 fits your needle holder the 134R should be no problem.
