Members pseudomonarchia Posted November 21, 2021 Members Report Posted November 21, 2021 Hey everyone, first post here so formatting may be weird. I’m currently trying to recreate the crown prop from Hereditary with leather and I cannot figure out how to make these bumps (shown in picture). Anyone know how I can go about doing something like this? I have some super basic leather experience so I wouldn’t say I’m a novice, but I’m definitely not seasoned haha. Any tips are appreciated because this is driving me crazy. Quote
CFM tsunkasapa Posted November 21, 2021 CFM Report Posted November 21, 2021 Wet it well and mold it over something the size/shape you want the bump to look like. Quote Hoka Hey! Today, tomorrow, next week, what does it matter?
Contributing Member fredk Posted November 21, 2021 Contributing Member Report Posted November 21, 2021 This is what its supposed to look like Use veg tan leather. Cut a strip of leather, cut the top edge shape, sew up the ends together. Then - give it a good wetting, a soaking and then fit it over a circular item which has objects attached on the surface where you want the bumps to be. The circular item should be just the right size for the crown to fit over, you then need to force it over the bumps. As the leather dries it will pull down over the bumps. You may need to help it a bit by using a modelling toll or boner to force the leather to form over the bumps Quote Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
