How To Dye In Double Color Like This?

Recommended Posts

hello, I was watching the tutorial on how Christian make a motorcycle saddle and ,at the end of the tutorial, he colored the leather in two parts (see photo attached) brown and black ....

What is the technique to achieve this effect (which I find amazing) to overlay two colors? which step to do?

Thank you in advance for your attention and suggestions you can give me

Actually TIna is correct. I dyed the seat a medium brown, then airbrushed the edge black. I also dusted on a light coat of black on the seat overall as the client wanted it darker. They antiqued with a dark brown paste.

Nothing too complicated but no resists were used on this particular seat.

Thanks to you all, specially to David that is the artisan that realized the saddles that originated my question....

I was thinking in a double way, brown dye and black airbrush, but one thing is to be sure and another is think about .....

thanks again to every one of you....

If you look on Utube "How to make a leather holster" there's a really good demo of how he airbrushes.
