I have been looking for a Fortuna Bell Skiver for some time with no luck here in the states, and have looked at them on Alibaba and they have a ton of them coming from China. Average price for skiver is $600-1200 depending on model plus around $200 to ship it to states. I also found sewing machines and 20 ton presses for below average prices so it is tempting. Has anyone had any experience with them or someone similar that would export from there?

I posted this in the wrong section I think. I have an opportunity to purchase a Cobra AK20 leather strap cutter. They want $1000 for it with no accessories, blades or anything else. Just the machine and table looks like. They don't seem to know anything about it but they know it was barely used somehow. Is this worth the gamble or should I pass on it? Thanks

Hi Friends, I have a Brother LS2-B837 walking foot with a feed problem. I installed a right angle binder with the feed dog and binding foot that came with it as a set and now the machine is not feeding the material. The feed dog moves in time with the foot and everything is smooth, it just won't advance the material. Anyone familiar with this machine out there?

I have seen these on ebay before, but does anyone know where they come from and if they work very well? Looks like a great alternative to pneumatic presses, I just don't know that they are worth the 900+. Thanks in advance for your replies.

Has anyone tried one of the Scharffix paring machine clones that have been comihttp://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/152035434768g out of China recently? They are black rather than green and take double edge razor blades. Seems like a good deal at £100odd rather than £2-300 for a genuine one.: An example listing Would such a machine be suitable for my purposes? I'm looking to pare the edges of 1-2mm thick leather, chrome or veg tan, for turned edges.

Hello all, I think my power converter is a 'Dud' device, but not sure, I'm in the UK. I used the power mallet for about 45 minutes and suddenly stopped working. I looked at the converter and it was really hot. What I know about electrics you can write it on a small postage stamp, and my brain is not what is was lol. I am hoping that the converter is just faulty and I need to contact where I bought it and get my money back. I have bought a more expensive one, can operate devises up to 300W, would this help. please help! just to ease my mind. I hope theres no damaged to the PM motor. I appreciate you comments. ATB Brian

Does anyone have a link to how to set-up, operate one of these? I bought one second hand and cannot seem to get it to skive, it either cuts right through the leather or does nothing at all and I'm getting frustrated. I've emailed cobra asking for instructions, or a manual, or a video, and received no response so if anyone could help I'd really appreciate it.

Here is an old belt press that I picked up from Landis International in Canada. Works great, but needed a fresh coat of paint. I am still working on painting it, but this is what it looks like so far! Thoughts? I am in need of a good die maker since I will need to customize them to my needs. Any die makers you are of other than Texas Custom Dies? I emailed them and am waiting on a call back.
